Rafting on Dunajec River

The traditional Dunajec raft trip is one of Poland's most iconic experiences: gondola-style wooden rafts steered by góral boatmen navigate 18 km of gorge between Kąty and Szczawnica. Lake Czorsztyn

Czorsztyn Lake stretches across 12 km² of dammed Dunajec valley, with the ruined towers of Czorsztyn Castle rising directly from its south shore and Niedzica Castle framing the opposite bank - one of the most photogenic spots in southern Poland. In summer the lake is popular for kayaking, windsurfing, and swimming, with sandy beaches at several points. The boat trip between the two castles takes about 20 minutes.

Dunajec Castle

The ruined Czorsztyn Castle crowns a rocky promontory above the lake, offering sweeping views across the water to Niedzica Castle and the Pieniny peaks beyond. Built in the 14th century to guard the Hungarian-Polish border, it fell into ruin after a fire in 1790 and was never rebuilt. Exploration of the walls, towers, and underground chambers takes about an hour - combine it with Niedzica Castle for a full afternoon.

The 15th-century wooden church at Dębno Podhalańskie is one of the finest examples of Gothic wooden architecture in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its interior is covered from floor to ceiling with original medieval polychrome paintings - a remarkable survival from the late 1400s. Guided visits take about 30 minutes; the church is open most days from spring through autumn.

Gorce National Park

Gorce National Park covers 7,030 hectares of rolling forest and open mountain meadows right on our doorstep, with the summit of Turbacz (1,310 m) as its centrepiece. Spring brings carpets of crocuses on the high meadows; in autumn the beech forests turn gold. The classic route from Konina to Turbacz and back is 14 km and takes 5–6 hours - one of the finest full-day hikes in the region.

Bear Cave

Bear Cave is one of the most spectacular show caves in Poland, filled with unusual formations including helictites, cave pearls, and massive stalactites. Luboń Wielki (1,022 m) is one of the finest viewpoints in the Western Beskids, with a PTTK mountain shelter and an observation tower at the summit offering panoramas stretching from the Tatras to the Gorce and Babia Góra. The approach from Mszana Dolna takes about 3 hours each way through dense spruce forest. The shelter serves hot food and drinks - a rewarding destination for a full-day walk.
